Take Lewisburg, a picturesque and charming one square-mile town of maybe 5,600 about 60 miles north of Harrisburg, It’s the county seat of Union County, home to Bucknell University and site of a lovely in-town restaurant named Elizabeth’s.

I’d heard about Elizabeth’s for some time. It’s in a cute, old mainstreet house near the town square: hardwood floors, open kitchen, friendly staff and wonderful menu. And it’s a treat.

If you have any reason to go to or near Lewisburg, or if you’re looking for a fall day-trip into the center of the state, make sure you include this elegant little dining spot in your travel plans.

The atmosphere is rural-chic mixed with city weeknight. It calls itself an ‘American Bistro.'”
